Onsite - Programme Implementer – Men for Gender Justice
The Programme Implementer – Men for Gender Justice will engage young boys in urban communities to promote gender equality. They will conduct capacity-building sessions, facilitate discussions on gender issues, identify young leaders, and ensure program implementation aligns with Azad Foundation’s objectives.

Salary: 30,000- 35,000 per month

About Azad Foundation
Azad is a professional feminist organization working across social and religious divides to enable resource-poor women to empower themselves by engaging them in viable non-traditional livelihood options. Azad is committed to breaking patriarchal boundaries and structures so that women can exercise control over their lives and live with dignity. This is done through transformative capacity-building programs based on adult learning principles around the self and the skills needed for non-traditional livelihoods. Azad also engages with both men and women in their communities to create a safe and supportive space for development. The organization operates directly in Jaipur, Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata and partners with other organizations in Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow.
Role Description – Key Responsibilities
- Formulate plan to operationalize the strategic objective around building environment of gender equality in communities.
- Deliver transformative capacity building programme (Men for Gender Justice) in Kolkata
- Conduct group meetings with young boys in the urban communities of Kolkata in order to make them connect with Azad’s ongoing work with youth.
- Ensure baseline & end line survey for young boys are completed on time.
- Facilitate discussions with adolescent boys to understand gender issues in the communities.
- Identify potential young leaders in the communities. Facilitate capacity building program of community leaders
- Ensure that Pakhwara sessions are conducted across locations in Kolkata as per plan.
- Conduct sessions on issues of gender, patriarchy and masculinities for young boys, Trainees, FLP & Azad Kishori.
- Support activities towards building synergies between different programmes of Azad Foundation (MGJ, FLP, AK and WWW) at the community level and plan for collective activities
- Conduct capacity building interventions and Facilitate programmes field team to improve programme effectiveness.
- Visits communities periodically to identify issues related to young boys and feed them back in the institutional process which help in making strategies to overcome challenges.
- Implement and adapt changes and interventions to ensure programme goals are achieved.
- Represent Azad in different district, state or national forums.
- Ensure all Programmes are carried on in an appropriate & cost effective way.
- Facilitate in development of related IEC materials and any other materials required for the programme implementation.
- Explore Innovative ways to improve operations system and processes
- Facilitate assessment of programme progress periodically in order to adjust strategies and implementation plan if required.
- Facilitate internal need assessment and learning towards growth of various engagements in the communities.
- Facilitate monthly meetings, quarterly review of the implementation of plan and present learning analysis to the leadership.
Professional & Educational Qualifications
- Educational Qualifications– Graduation/Post Graduation in any discipline, Social work/Social Science/gender studies/development studies will be an advantage
- Professional Experience– 4-5 years’ experience in relevant field is required
- Computer Skills- Skilled in handling computer especially the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Language Proficiency– Proficiency in English & Bangla – reading, writing and speaking. Proficiency in Hindi is recommended
