Community Impact Assessment & Relief During COVID
This newsletter highlights Azad Foundation's COVID-19 relief efforts, supporting marginalized communities with essential resources and social security.
The COVID-19 pandemic deeply impacted marginalized communities, particularly those without social security. This newsletter delves into Azad Foundation’s swift and comprehensive response, focusing on supporting vulnerable households through various interventions. Azad’s efforts included creating local support networks, launching a digital mobile application for community needs assessment, and establishing state-level helplines. The organization distributed essential supplies, such as dry groceries, masks, and menstrual hygiene products, and connected thousands of households to food security initiatives.
Additionally, the newsletter covers Azad’s work in assisting families to access social security schemes and combating the surge in gender-based violence. Through counseling, legal support, and hygiene kits, Azad’s community leaders and volunteers ensured that the most vulnerable received the help they needed during this crisis. This issue also recognizes the tireless efforts of Azad’s community teams, including chauffeurs, trainees, and leaders, who worked selflessly to support others despite facing their own challenges.
