Anuvinda Varkey

Anuvinda is a lawyer currently serving as a partner at the consulting firm Market and Ecosystem Advisory. She is a board member of several NGOs, focusing on governance and strategic planning. Previously, she was the Executive Director of the Christian Coalition for Health, advocating for universal health coverage. Anuvinda also served as the General Secretary of the YWCA of Delhi.

Meenu Vadera

Secretary

Meenu is a feminist social entrepreneur working in India to enable resource poor women empower themselves and access livelihoods with dignity by becoming professional chauffeurs. Meenu founded AZAD FOUNDATION and Sakha in 2008. She led as the Executive Director of Azad until 2022.

Rohit Bhasin

Treasurer

Rohit Bhasin is a Chartered Accountant with over 40 years of experience, having worked in organizations like PWC, AIG, and Standard Chartered Bank. He is a seasoned finance leader with expertise in the areas of business strategy, investment advisory, business planning and corporate finance across sectors. Currently, he serves as a board member for several well-known corporate and social sector organisations.

Alka Sharma

Trustee

A postgraduate in History and an LLB from Delhi University, with an MPhil from University of Madras and an MBA in Public Service from the University of Birmingham, Alka is currently the Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts. She has worked closely with several educational, defence, scientific and security-related government and autonomous organizations focusing on administration and finance.

Nandini Narula

With a Masters in Social Work from Nirmala Niketan Mumbai, Nandini is one of the Founder Trustee of Azad Foundation. Having over forty years of working experience with grassroot, capacity building and international donor organizations, she has supported work around women’s livelihoods, leadership development, gender, organization building and its system development. She is a Board member of NGOs working at the State and National levels.

Ritu Mal

Trustee

Ritu Mal is a postgraduate in Management from IIM Calcutta, and holds about 4 decades of multi-disciplinary experience. She has experience of working in the corporate sector in large and medium sized companies, and start-ups. She has also been a management consultant, providing consulting assistance on strategy, people management and organisation development for corporates and organisations in the not-for-profit sector. Over the last 15 years, she has been serving on the boards of social enterprises and not-for-profit organisations.

Dr. G Venkat Raman

Trustee

Prof G Venkat Raman is a faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Indore. He has recently completed his Fulbright Fellowship at the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University (Virginia, USA). Venkat is a Sinologist and a keen observer of geopolitics. He completed his doctoral studies at the School of Government in China's premier university, Peking University, Beijing. He has also co-authored and published case studies on Indian businesses in China in prestigious case centres like Ivey Publishing, ISB Hyderabad, and China Europe International Business School, Shanghai.

Dolon Ganguly

Chief Functionary

Dolon is an intersectional feminist with 30 years of experience in India’s development sector, primarily promoting women’s economic and social rights. She has been actively involved in the women’s movements in India and policy engagement to further women’s rights. Dolon is a published writer in leading Bengali journals and dailies and received the Laadli Media Award in 2013. She has been actively engaged in fostering cis and trans women's inclusion in non-traditional livelihoods for the past decade.

Shrinivas Rao

National Lead

Shrinivas is a feminist social worker with over 25 years of experience. Since 2009, he has played a key role in establishing Azad’s Women with Wheels program and strategizing grassroots initiatives for gender-just ecosystem creation. Shrinivas has previously implemented participatory town planning, leadership development academies projects, advised governments on key governance reforms and written for national and international publications.
