Women With Wheels graduates hired by Indore’s Municipal Corporation

Women drivers trained through the Women With Wheels programme by our partner Samaan Society have been employed by Indore’s Municipal Corporation to drive waste collection vehicles.

These women will join the ranks of 22 fellow women drivers that have found work following their completion of the Women With Wheels programme.

Azad Foundation began its partnership with the Samaan Society, an organisation that is active at the grass roots level in Indore, to implement the Women With Wheels programme in 2015. In the first year alone 50 women were enrolled in the programme.

We are so glad to see that employment options in the transport sector are opening up for women.
